Evangelism & Outreach
Ministries
At the core of Shiloh Baptist Church’s mission is a commitment to sharing the message of hope, love, and salvation beyond the church walls. The Evangelism and Outreach ministries seek to embody Christ’s Great Commission, engaging the local community through acts of service, compassionate outreach, and intentional relationship-building. Through neighborhood initiatives, charitable drives, mission trips, and public events, these ministries extend a welcoming hand to those who may be seeking spiritual guidance or practical support.

Baptist Women (Missionary) Ministry
The Baptist Women of SBC is a missinary group that supports the members of Shiloh and the local community. They serve our senior members with Valentine Day cards/gifts (where they are) and Christmas gifts/visits/home decorations. The ministry also organizes the annual Thanksgiving turkey/grocery gift card ministry for members and the community.
The Baptist Women partners with local missionary groups, regionally supports the Baptist Center of Virginia, the University of Lynchburg, the Virginia Baptist State Convention and globally supports the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our neighbors. Following The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) is our living work.
Clothes Closet
The Clothes Closet personifies “serving Christ by serving people.” It provides free clothing (men, women, infants, children) and household items (when available) to the homeless, families and individuals who need assistance. Our hours of operation are 11a.m. to 1 p.m. every first and third Thursday of each month, where individuals/families are served kindly and courteously. The ministry also sorts and donates clothing to charitable agencies, funeral homes (for families who cannot afford burial clothes for deceased loved ones), and during emergencies and disasters. Our purpose is not to just give away free clothes, but to also try to meet the basic needs of people with support, dignity and the love of Jesus Christ.
Hospitality Minsitry
This ministry extends a Christ-like welcoming to all who enter the SBC grounds and sanctuary—both visitors and family members. We provide welcome packages to out-of-town guest messengers. And we serve where needed at the request of other ministries.
Student Ministry
Guided by faith, the Student Ministry’s mission is to support and equip our youth to grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and acknowledge their positive school and community experiences, knowing that God will guide their steps in all they do.
