“...Deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.” I Timothy 3:8-9
The Deacons Ministry of Shiloh Baptist Church provides a vital link between leadership and the congregation and ensures that church operations are smooth. Deacons are servant leaders who assist with various tasks that allow the pastor to prioritize teaching and spiritual leadership. Their duties include facilitating the affairs of the church, care of the membership, serving communion, assisting with baptism, and collaborating with the pastor in implementing a spiritual vision for the church.

Deaconess
The Deaconess Ministry of Shiloh Baptist Church is consecrated to the service of God, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through the spiritual and physical care of the church. We support the pastor and deacons in the vision and mission of Shiloh by assisting in the preparation and administration of the ordinances to include serving communion, assisting with baptism, beautification of the pulpit, visitation of the sick, and collaboration with all ministries of the church.

The Diaconate is grounded in prayer and guided by a deep devotion to the spiritual and practical well-being of the church family. The Diaconate ensures the smooth operation of the church, supports the Pastor and ministerial staff, oversees congregational care, and ensures that the church’s ministries run smoothly.
The Diaconate visits the sick and homebound, provides support to those facing life’s challenges, and assists in administering the ordinances of the church. And through their humble service and steadfast faith, they uphold the spiritual integrity and unity of the congregation, nurturing a community where every member feels seen, supported, and encouraged to grow in faith.
